January 24: A Prayer for our Youth and Young Adults

Loving Father, we thank You for our youth and young adults. Thank You for knowing each of them intimately. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to be their Helper and Teacher. Thank You for blessing our youth socially, academically, relationally and emotionally.  Father, we sing praises to You, our God and strength. We will sing, beat the tambourine and play the sweet lyre and harp.  Your dwelling place is lovely.  We faint with longing to enter Your courts with our whole beings, bodies and souls.  We will shout joyfully to You, the living God.  Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how we praise You!  We will praise You as long as we live; we will lift up our hands to You in prayer.  You satisfy us more than the richest feast.  We will praise You with songs of joy.

Sovereign King, we confess that our youth and young adults will truly understand that their bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit.  We declare that they will give their bodies to You and will be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind You will find acceptable, for this is truly the way to worship You.  They will not copy the illicit behavior and customs of this world, but they will let You, Father, transform them into new people by changing the way they think.  We declare that our youth and young adults will learn and grow in Your Word.  They will know Your will for them, which is good and pleasing and perfect.  They will know You and all of Your fullness. They will worship You and be thankful. We declare that our youth and young adults will not do vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They will not trade the truth about You for a lie.  In Jesus’ Name, we declare that our daughters will not lust for other girls and our sons will not burn with lust for other boys.  Matter of fact, our sons and daughters will not have sex until they marry. We decree that our youth and young adults will not partake in pornography, fornication, homosexuality, or any other sexual perversion.  We confess that they will unashamedly run from all sexual sin.

I commit to praying for the following youth and young adult this month:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, our Deliverer, some of our youth and young adults are ensnared by the sexual perversions of this world.  Please remove the scales from their eyes and circumcise their hearts so that they can see themselves reflected in God’s Word. Remind them that they are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, Your very own possession. Deliver them from the shame and anger that perversion and sin creates in their hearts and minds.  Remind them that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus and that nothing can ever separate them from the Father’s love that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Help our youth and young adults to make Godly choices. Convict them when they watch, read, listen to and visit internet sites that are ungodly.  Surround them with strong Christian friends who will support them and hold them accountable when they are wrong.  Lead them to people who love Christ more than culture.  Empower them to resist peer pressure.

Merciful Father, forgive our youth and young adults for any sexual sin they have participated in including pornography, fornication, homosexuality, and taking inappropriate pictures of themselves.  Forgive those who do not value their bodies. Forgive those parents and guardians who have not created holy environments in their homes and lived as models of righteousness and integrity. Forgive us, as the Body of Christ, for turning a blind eye to what our youth are doing.  Forgive us for not openly discussing sexual purity with our youth and young adults. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our youth and young adults of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our youth and young adults to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, You are the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.  Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to You who sits on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

January 23: A Declaration of Financial Prosperity

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our provider.  Thank You for giving us Your Word on how to make our way prosperous and successful.  Father, thank You for surrounding us with Your favor like a shield as we do business in our public and private lives. Thank You for continuing to open doors of opportunity.  Thank You, Father, for Your Word to use as our economic strong tower during these trying financial times.  We praise You with all of our hearts; we will tell of all the marvelous things You have done.  Your reign is forever.  You execute judgment from Your throne.  You judge the world with justice and the people righteously.  Lord, You are a shelter for the oppressed and a refuge in times of trouble.  We trust in You because we know Your Name; we know that You do not abandon those who search for You.  Father, Your righteousness reaches to the highest heavens. You have done wonderful things!  Who can compare with You?

Glorious Father, we declare that we are blessed because we fear You, and delight in obeying Your commands.  We believe that Your plans for our finances are for good and not for disaster, to give us a prosperous future and a hope.  As we are willing and obedient, according to Your Word, we will have plenty to eat.  We will trust in You because we know that Your Word is Truth. We confess that our confidence is in You and not in our jobs, our investments, our bank accounts or ourselves. We commit to seeking Your Kingdom first above all things and living righteously and we know that You will give us everything we need. We rebuke old mindsets, habits and behavior patterns that have created lack and poverty. In the Name of Jesus, we stand united against thoughts of failure, defeat and mediocrity. According to Your Word, we confess that we will be wealthy and our good deeds will last forever.

What is a financial breakthrough that you are expecting to receive? Find God’s promises concerning finances and begin to declare them over your life: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask You to help those who are drowning in financial debt.  Lead them to someone who can help them to manage their finances better. As we receive increases in our finances, help us, Holy Spirit, to remember that You are the One who provides abundance. Please help us to not hoard Your financial blessings. Your Word says that when we help the poor, we are lending to the Lord and He will repay our generosity. So please, Holy Spirit, remind us to be generous and to look for opportunities to be a financial blessing to someone else in need. Teach us Your Way to love people and to use money, rather than the devil’s way of loving money and using people.

Merciful Father, forgive us for all acts of sin including idolatry, greed, stinginess, self-centeredness, arrogance, pride, stubbornness, financial disobedience and any other act of unrighteousness. Forgive those of us who continue to participate in the downward spiral of financial mismanagement.  Forgive those of us who, whether in ignorance or in rebellion, fail to develop financial plans that include tithing, debt reduction, savings and investments. Forgive us for living beyond our means and misusing credit cards. Father, forgive those members of the Body of Christ who do not pay their tithes and help them to get on track and begin to tithe.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Glorious Lord, You made the earth by the power of Your Word and preserve it by Your Wisdom.  With Your own understanding You stretched out the heavens.  When You speak in the thunder, You announce that the heavens are filled with water.  You cause the clouds to rise over the earth.  You send the lightning with the rain and release the wind from Your storehouses.  Holy, holy, holy are You the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the whole earth is filled with Your glory!  In Jesus Name, Amen.

January 22: A Prayer for The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center (Children Center) Kenya

Heavenly Father, we thank You for The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya. Thank You for Pastor Velosia and Daniel Kibe and their volunteers and staff. We thank You, Father, for providing food, clothing and shelter for each child. Thank You for the financial resources for the orphanage.  We give thanks to You, Lord, and proclaim Your greatness. As Your grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving and You will receive more and more glory!  Redeeming Father, we will let the whole world know what You have done.  May the nations praise You, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise You.

Worthy Father, as a Church Family, we come before You confessing continual success for The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center (Children Center) Kenya.  Your Word tells us that pure and genuine religion in Your sight means caring for orphans in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt us. As a Church Family, we will assist the poor in their need and the orphans who require help. We command justice to operate for each child in the orphanage and we destroy the assignments of oppression and devastation.  As Your people, we will uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. We decree that the children at the Children Center are being well-cared-for and protected. We declare that the spirit of excellence that was upon Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego presides upon each child in the Children Center.  In Jesus’ Name, we decree that The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya is well maintained and managed.

Holy Spirit, touch the hearts of people to continue to give generously of their financial resources to aid in the expansion of the building projects so that more children can be served.  Open doors of opportunity for more missions teams to go and serve on the Children Center campus.  Lead the people of Kenya who are blessed with skills in construction to volunteer their time and service to the residential housing, agricultural, and library projects. Holy Spirit, touch the heart of the local medical personnel to give of their time and expertise to provide medical services to the children. Send anointed teachers who will inspire each child to fully develop the gifts and talents You have created in each of them.

Holy Spirit, show me how I can pray for and be a blessing to The KBC (Children Center) Kenya:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Righteous Father, as a Church Family, please forgive our sins. Forgive us for not praying consistently for the Children Center. Forgive the sins of those involved with The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya.  Forgive any staff member at the The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center for any mismanagement of time or resources.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind those involved with The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, remind those involved with The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You alone stretched out the sky like a canopy and laid the foundations of the earth.  You stir up the sea, causing its waves to roar.  The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is Your Name!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

January 20: A Declaration of Worship to God, Our Father

Mighty Father, we thank You for Your love and compassion.  Thank You for keeping Your covenant with us throughout the ages.  Thank You for making us Your people.  We bless Your Holy Name.  We proclaim Your unfailing love in the morning and Your faithfulness in the evening. Lord, You are compassionate, merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Your unfailing love toward those who fear You is as great as the height of the heavens are above the earth.  Let the whole world fear You, Lord.  Let everyone stand in awe of You. Lord, You spoke and the world began; it appeared at Your command. You breathed the Word, and all the stars were born. Lord, You are our inheritance, in You will we hope.  What a joy it is to be one of Your children. Father, You are good and Your faithful love endures forever.

Wonderful Father, we reverence and honor You.  You are our God and we submit our loyalty and adoration to You.  You are the only true God.  You are the living God and the everlasting King!  Father, all of Your works will thank You, Lord and we, Your faithful followers, bless You.  You are so awesome! We declare that we will keep Your commandments, walk in Your ways, and fear You.  Father, Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls.  Your decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to our hearts.  Your commands are clear, giving insight for living.  Revering You is pure, lasting forever.  Your laws are true and each one is fair.  Father, Your Word is more desirable than gold, yes, even the finest gold.  Your Word is sweeter than honey dripping from the honeycomb. Your Word warns us and we expect great reward as we adhere to it.  Father, You are great and most worthy of praise.  We will bless You at all times and constantly speak of Your praises.

List three character attributes about God, as Father, that you love:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Loving Father, please let Your ears be attentive to our prayer.  Holy Spirit, teach us how to reverence and adore our Father in true holiness.  Please touch the hearts of those in our congregation who do not reverence and adore You, and help them to love You with all their hearts, souls, and strength.  Holy Spirit, place in us a hunger and thirst for Your righteousness, so that we will be filled.

Gracious Father, forgive us for sins of pride, arrogance, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, idolatry, and lack of faith.  Lord, forgive us for half-hearted worship.  Forgive us for disrespecting Your Name and treating You irreverently.   Forgive those of us who are parents for not teaching our children to reverence and adore You.  Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.  You are the God who is, and who always was, and who is still to come – the Almighty One.  All honor and glory belongs to You, God, forever and ever!  You are the eternal King, the unseen One who will never die; You alone are God.  Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

January 19: A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Salvation

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your tender mercies and unfailing love. Thank You for providing a way for sinners to be reconciled back to You. Thank You for enlightening our hearts to say “yes” to You when You called us. Lord, You are very great and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension.  We come clapping our hands and shouting joyful praises to You, our God.  Most High, You are awesome.  You are the great King of all the earth.  We meditate on Your unfailing love as we worship in Your temple.  Your Name will be praised to the ends of the earth. We honor You as our Lord and Savior.

Our Father, it is Your desire that all people be saved and understand the truth.  We are grateful that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the only gate by which people are saved.  Therefore, we commit to sharing the Gospel with our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers and enemies.  We will not be afraid or intimidated, but we will share the Good News of Jesus Christ with boldness, confidence and love.  We are thankful that when our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers and enemies confess with their mouths, the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that You raised Jesus from the dead, they will be saved.  Father, we declare that they will know the truth, and the truth will set them free.  As the Body of Christ, we gladly take the great commission and go into the world preaching the Good News to everyone You place in our paths.  We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because we know that it is Your power that is at work, saving everyone who believes.

Gracious Father, we cry out to You to clear the way so that Your Gospel may be preached in every city, state, country, and continent. Since the harvest is plentiful, continue to send laborers to proclaim Your Word of salvation to the unsaved.  We ask You to remove the scales that keep them from seeing Your goodness and faithfulness.  Surround them with the counsel of the Godly so that they may be washed in the water of Your Word; stripped of the old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds, and put on their new nature so that they will be renewed as they learn to know their Creator and become like Him.  Holy Spirit, we ask You to circumcise the hearts of those who are in a backslidden state.  Like the prodigal child, help them to come to themselves and return to You, their first love.  Remind them that nothing can ever separate them from God’s love; not death, life, angels, demons, fears for today or worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate them from the Father’s love. Help us, the Body of Christ, to present the Gospel with compassion, hope and patience.

List the people you have witnessed to about Jesus Christ:  ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Forgiving Father, forgive us for all acts of sin, including disobedience, hatred, rebellion and idolatry.  Forgive those who have rejected Your Gospel.  Please have mercy upon them and extend Your grace toward them.  Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not sharing Jesus and the Gospel with more people.  Forgive us for being timid and reserved about sharing the Gospel.  Forgive us for not reaching out to those who we know are in a backslidden state.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to forgive.

January 17: A Prayer of Thanksgiving for The Holy Spirit

Heavenly Father, we thank You for saving us through the sacrifice of Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.  We thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to instruct, guide, teach and comfort us.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering us to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ and being God’s guarantee for the inheritance He promised.  Because of You, this guarantee includes that we have been purchased to be His own people.  Hallel YAH!  Father God, we praise You, our Savior.  Each day You carry us in Your arms.  You are the God who saves, the Sovereign Lord who rescues us from death.  We will sing to You, the One who rides across the ancient heavens; Your mighty voice thunders from the sky.  We will tell everyone about Your power.  Your majesty shines down on Israel; Your strength is mighty in the heavens.  You are awesome in Your sanctuary!

Mighty God, we have not received a spirit that makes us fearful slaves; instead, we have received Your Spirit when You adopted us as Your children. We confess that the same Holy Spirit who resurrected Jesus from the dead now dwells within us.  It is the Holy Spirit who gives life to our mortal bodies, just as He gave life to Christ and raised Him from the dead.  We decree that You, Holy Spirit, are our Comforter and our Helper.  You are Holy.  We depend on You to remind us of everything Jesus taught while He lived on the earth.  You are God’s power source, and You are the Teacher of all truth.  We thank You for being God’s Representative in the earth, the One through whom God relates to all believers, the Producer of the Fruit of the Spirit and our Advocate.  We love You, Holy Spirit, and thank You for working through us to perform miracles, signs and wonders so that people will experience the Kingdom of God.  As a Church Family, we confess that we will not be filled with wine, but we will be filled with the Holy Spirit; singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among ourselves and making music to the Lord in our hearts.

Holy Spirit, continue to lead and guide our lives.  As we study God’s Word, reveal the Kingdom of God to us and within us and help us to share the Kingdom in this dark world.  Show us those areas in our personal lives that we need to get in order so that we will not bring You sorrow by the way we live.  Help us to get rid of all bitterness, unforgiveness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.  Instead, show us how to be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven us through Christ Jesus.

Holy Spirit, what are the areas in my life that I need to surrender to You?  List them:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Heavenly Father, forgive those who deny the existence or power of the Holy Spirit.  Forgive those who have discouraged others from embracing the fullness of the Holy Spirit.  Forgive us for not completely yielding control of our lives to the Holy Spirit.  Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).   Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Almighty God, the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it all belong to You.  You are the God of gods and Lord of lords.  You are the great God, the mighty and awesome God who shows no partiality and cannot be bribed. You alone are worthy of praise because You alone perform such great miracles.  In the majestic Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen!
