December 31: A Prayer of Healing for People Diagnosed with HIV and AIDS

Our Father, with our whole hearts, we give thanks to You. Thank You for being a God of hope and promise.  Lord, thank You for sending Your Word to heal us. Thank You for providing healing through the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Lord, You are great and most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your greatness.  Each generation will tell its children of Your mighty acts; they shall proclaim Your power!  We will meditate on Your majestic, glorious splendor and Your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; we will proclaim Your greatness.

Gracious Father, we commit to Your hands each member of the Body of Christ, our relatives, friends and co-workers who are battling with HIV or AIDS. We know that You have written their names on the palms of Your hands.  You know everything about them; You know when they sit down and when they stand up. We decree physical, emotional, spiritual and relational healing to each person who is living with HIV or AIDS.  By faith, we confess that they will trust in You and fix their thoughts on You so that they can live in Your perfect peace.  We know that nothing is too hard for You. The Name of Jesus is greater than the name of any disease or disorder including HIV and AIDS. We speak to their immune systems and command them to be made whole in the Name of Jesus.  We cancel the assignment of every opportunistic infection and declare they are powerless to operate in the bodies of God’s children.  We command their lungs, hearts and organs to operate correctly.  We command their red blood cells to carry the appropriate oxygen throughout their bodies and their white blood cells to form a protective shield against all foreign bodies.  We also command the CD4/T-Cell count to elevate far above 500 to a “normal” immune level.  In the Name of Jesus, we decree that the immune cells will only be used to protect the body from illness and infection and not be duplicated by this virus to further increase HIV in the body.

Holy Spirit, please show me how I can specifically pray for or help individuals who are battling with HIV or AIDS:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please give strength to those who are weak, and increase power to those who have no might.  Lord, increase Your wisdom in the HIV/AIDS research community and reveal the cure for this terrible disease.  Help those who are suffering.  Please extend Your mercy and grace.  Touch the hearts of those persons who do not know God to cry out to Him and receive Him as their Lord and Savior. Lord, remind them to take Your Word daily; just as they would take their prescribed medicine.  Please provide the necessary resources and finances for them. Please help to increase the awareness about HIV and AIDS so that people can better protect themselves. Please break down the walls of ignorance and fear that create a difficult and isolating environment for those who are living with HIV and AIDS.

Merciful Father, forgive all acts of sinfulness for those who are battling with HIV and AIDS.  Please forgive us as a nation for not being more responsible with educating ourselves and our children on the prevention of HIV and AIDS. Forgive our nation for fornication, homosexuality, adultery, rape, drug use, discrimination, ignorance and fear. Forgive the drug companies for making medical treatment unaffordable.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those with HIV and AIDS of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive and help me to be quick to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help those who are battling with HIV and AIDS to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, from eternity to eternity, You alone are God.  No one can snatch anyone out of Your hand.  No one can undo what You have done.  You are the Lord God, the Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 30: A Prayer for the United States of America

Holy Father, we thank You for the favor, grace and mercy You have extended to the United States of America.  Thank You for allowing us to live in a country where we can freely worship You. Thank You for protecting our leaders, our borders and our military personnel both at home and abroad.  Lord, Your eternal Word stands firm in heaven. Your faithfulness extends to every generation. Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves Your plans. Lord, we love Your instructions. We will think about them all day long. Your commands make us wiser than our enemies, they are our constant guide. Your commandments give us understanding; no wonder we hate every false way of life.  You are an awesome Father and we bless Your holy Name.

Triumphant Father, it is You who causes the enemies of our nation to stumble and fall; Your very Name keeps us safe from all harm.  As we trust in You, Your Word declares that our nation will not be disgraced, nor will You allow our enemies to rejoice in our defeat.  We admit that we are a pluralistic society that confesses many gods, but there is a remnant that trusts only in You and acknowledges Jesus Christ as Your Son.  We come praying for President Barack Obama and his administration, our local, state and national leaders, so that we, the citizens of the United States of America, can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.  We declare that our leaders will hear and act upon the voice of the Holy Spirit. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, their armies and weapons, but we, the United States, will always boast in the Name of the Lord our God.  We decree that the citizens of the United States will rise up and stand firm in Jesus’ Name.  We confess that our enemies will stay far away from our borders.  We will live in peace and terror will not come near us.  Any nation that comes to attack or fight against us will go down in defeat.  We decree that no weapon formed against us will succeed.

I pray for God’s Divine intervention in the following areas for our nation:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Almighty Father, continue to pour out Your Holy Spirit on our nation and please do not turn Your face away from us.  Cause Your peace to dwell in our nation.  Please continue to extend Your grace and mercy. We ask You to help Mayor Annise Parker, Governor Greg Abbott, and President Barack Obama as they lead our city, state and nation.  As their lives please You, Your Word declares that their enemies will be at peace with them.  Increase their wisdom, knowledge, confidence and peace. Holy Spirit, please reveal and expose every evil plot, plan and strategy that have been devised against our nation both internally and externally.  Remove the covering from every sleeper cell within our nation and cause their plans of devastation and destruction to fail.  Please strengthen and grant wisdom to our military leaders as they strategize and execute their military tactics. Implore the Body of Christ to not grow lazy and complacent in praying for our nation, but to remain diligent on the wall of prayer.

Loving Father, as a nation, we realize that our sins are abominable and a stench to Your nostrils. But, Holy Father, as Your children, we stand before You and ask for Your mercy.  Forgive the Body of Christ for standing before You with wicked hearts, perverted mouths, ungodly behavior, hatred toward authority, and unforgiveness.  Forgive our leadership (local, state, and national) for their bickering and infighting.  Forgive us for speaking out on some sin and remaining silent about other sin. To You, we know that sin is sin and You expect us to speak out against all sin.  Father, we admit that we, Your church, operate in forms of godliness, but consistently deny the power of Your Holy Spirit.  Righteous Father, have mercy upon us. You desire a contrite heart. Holy Spirit, move throughout the American Church and trouble all of us until we repent as the Body of Christ. Purify us from our sins and we will be clean; wash us, and we will be whiter than snow. Create in us a clean heart O God, and renew a loyal spirit within us.  Please do not banish us from Your presence and don’t take Your Holy Spirit from us. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our nation of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help the citizens of our nation not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

You are the Lord, our God, and there is no other. No one is holy like You. There is no one besides You.  There is no Rock like You, our God.  Lord, You are the King of kings and Lord of lords.  You rule and reign forever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 29: A Prayer Regarding Abuse in America

Exalted Father, we thank You for being our Strong Tower.  We thank You for watching over Your children.  Thank You for hearing the cries of the righteous and for answering us when we call.  Lord, all the earth will shout joyful praises to You and sing about the glory of Your Name.  We, Your children, will tell the world how glorious You are.  Your enemies cringe before Your mighty power.  Lord, we praise You!  It is good to sing praises to You, our God.  It is pleasant and fitting to give You praise.  You heal the brokenhearted and bandage their wounds. Lord, You are great and Your power is absolute.  Your understanding is beyond comprehension.

Honorable Father, You have not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy, nor have You turned Your back on them.  But, Lord, You hear Your people when they call to You for help and You rescue them from all their troubles.  Therefore, we cry out to You for help for those who are being abused in our nation; mentally, physically, verbally, emotionally, or sexually.  We rebuke the spirits of anger, wrath, violence, low self-esteem, fear and lack of self-control that motivates people to intentionally harm those around them.  We cancel generational curses of domestic violence and sexual assault from the bloodlines of the people in our nation, especially from those in the Body of Christ.  Lord Jesus, You are the Strong Tower that the righteous can run to and find safety.  We decree that the victims of violence and assault will lift their eyes to You and find safety.  We declare that You are their refuge and strength; always ready to help in times of trouble.  We rebuke the spirits of fear and intimidation that would cause them to remain silent and stay in their current, unhealthy situation.  We cancel every lie that the enemy has decreed over their lives through the aggressor about their self-worth.  We decree that they will confess Your Word over their lives and understand that they are the head and not the tail, blessed and not cursed, and that they are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. Lord, they will call on You and You will answer them; You will be with them in trouble; You will deliver them and honor them.  You will satisfy them with long life and show them Your salvation.  They have been created in Your image and Your plans for their lives are for good and not evil, so that they will have a future and a hope.

List the names of anyone the Holy Spirit brings to your mind while you are praying this prayer and commit to praying for them this month:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we especially cry out for the children and minors who are being abused.  Please rescue them and give them the boldness to tell a trusted adult about their current situation.  Heal the wounds that have been inflicted upon them and restore their confidence in adults as well as themselves.  Help them to find good, Godly friends who will walk alongside them and love them so that they will not feel isolated and alone.  Please open the eyes of righteous people around the victims, especially our children, so that they will recognize the signs of trouble and are directed to find help.  Please lead the aggressors to recognize the need for and to receive help.

Righteous Father, please forgive the aggressors for violating those around them.  Forgive us as a nation for turning a blind eye to violence.  Forgive us for normalizing and making excuses for this kind of behavior.  Forgive us as a nation for placing the blame on the victims.  Forgive us for our seemingly unlimited appetite, or tolerance for violence, sexuality and vulgarity in the entertainment we consume via music, movies, the internet and other popular culture. Forgive us for creating and accepting such a hostile and violent atmosphere in our nation.  Forgive those parents who have inflicted their children with mental, emotional, physical and spiritual abuse.  Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for being insensitive to the needs of victims of abuse. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the victims of abuse of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help the victims of abuse to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You are the triumphant One.  You laid the foundations of the earth and determined its dimensions.  You kept the sea inside its boundaries and locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores.  You are the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent King and we adore You.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 28: A Prayer for Houston Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Personnel

Merciful Father, we thank You for the men and women who serve as police officers, firefighters and emergency first responders for the Greater Houston Area. Thank You for empowering them spiritually, mentally, psychologically and physically for the trauma that they face daily.  Thank You for being their strength and their hope. You are awesome in Your sanctuary.  God of Israel, You give power and strength to Your people. Praise be to You, God! May all who are Godly rejoice in You, Lord, and praise Your holy Name! Let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. We give thanks to You who made the heavens so skillfully. Your faithful love endures forever. We give thanks to You who placed the earth among the waters.  Your faithful love endures forever.

Today, we stand in the gap for our police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel.  We declare God’s protection and provision over their lives.  In Jesus’ Name, we declare that no weapon turned against them will succeed.  Every voice which rises up to accuse them will be silenced. As they go out on emergency calls, we confess that You will order Your angels to protect them wherever they go.  Your angels will hold them up with their hands so they will not hurt their foot on a stone. By faith, we confess that the public servants who are called by Your Name, Father, will love You with all of their hearts, soul, strength, and mind.  They will find their source of strength in You. We declare that they will consistently seek Your will in all that they do and You will show them which path to take.

Holy Spirit, as the first responders seek You for wisdom, please reveal any snares, traps or pitfalls that may lay ahead of them and show them how to circumvent these dangers. Help them to remain focused when they respond to an emergency. Help them to all work together as a well-oiled machine.  Remind them to be their brother or sister’s keeper. Calm the fears of their loved ones, especially young children. Help the family members to trust You for the safety of their loved ones. Holy Spirit, remind those first responders who are Believers to always be joyful, never stop praying and to be thankful in all circumstances.  Remind the citizens of our great city to be mindful of our first responders; to follow their instructions, pray for them and to be appreciative of the commitment that these men and women have made to our city.

Holy Spirit, show me ways in which I may assist the police, fire and emergency medical personnel in my community:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Merciful Father, forgive our police, fire and emergency personnel for their sins.  Forgive them for any injustice within the respective departments. Forgive us as a city for failing to recognize first responders until a tragedy occurs.   Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our police officers, fire-fighters and emergency medical personnel of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our police officers, fire-fighters and emergency medical personnel to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Heaven’s Armies, You are great.  How deserving of praise, in the city of our God, which sits on Your mountain! As Your Name deserves, O God, You will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory.  God Almighty, You reign forever and ever! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 27: A Prayer Concerning Overcoming Addictions

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus, the Name that is above all names. Thank You for giving us the power of the Holy Spirit which is greater than any power that exists in this world. Thank You for never giving up on us, even when we fail time after time. You are so merciful and kind. We cannot live without You, Lord. We will praise You with our whole hearts. We will tell of the marvelous things You have done. We are filled with joy because of You, Most High, and we sing praises to Your Name! We know You to be a shelter for us when we are oppressed and troubled. You never abandon those who search for You. Lord, we love You. You are our strength. You are the Rock in whom we find protection and safety. Your Name is worthy of praise!

Faithful Father, it is not Your will for us to be lost and held captive by addictions to drugs, alcohol, sex, food, gambling, or any other vices. We decree that whoever the Son has set free is truly free. Therefore, we rebuke the spirit of addiction that seeks to destroy the lives of those within our Church Family, our personal families, and in our community. There is no other name that is powerful enough to save our loved ones who are bound by addiction than the Name of Jesus. Father, we declare that we are the righteous, and our earnest prayers have great power, producing wonderful results. We decree that we will not waver and doubt when things seem to get worse instead of better. We know that You will respond to our faith. Therefore, we declare that we will not cease to pray until our loved ones who are bound by addiction are released and delivered. We decree, in the Name of Jesus, that our homes, our families, and our communities are restored back to You!

List the names of friends, family, or neighbors who are struggling to break free of an addiction. Commit to pray specifically for them today:

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, make us keenly aware of those within our Church Family and community who are hurting and bound. Give us a heart of compassion toward them. Show us how to reach out to them without judging or condemning them. Remind us of Your love and grace that brought us through our trials. Help us to give those who are hurting and bound a reason to hope for a better life. Give us a hunger and thirst to pray and intercede for them until we see that they are delivered and set free from addiction. Heal them in every area of hurt. Strengthen and help those who have been hurt by the fallout of abuse – the grandparents raising grandchildren, incarcerated parents, abandoned and abused children, impoverished families, and those who have lost loved ones due to addiction. Help us, as a Church Family, to build better partnerships with community organizations who are reaching out to house, educate, and rehabilitate those who want to come out of addiction. May we be salt and light to them as the Lord has commanded.

Righteous Father, please forgive us for not being there when we should have for that person who turned to drugs for comfort. Forgive us for judging and condemning those who are addicted. Forgive us for overlooking opportunities to show love and compassion to the hurting families who are suffering from the effects of addiction. Forgive those who are addicted for turning to something unholy for help instead of turning to You. Forgive them for not responding to the voice of wisdom and making unhealthy choices in life. Forgive those of us who have at one time, knowingly or unknowingly, contributed to the cause of another’s addiction. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those who are addicted of all those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help those who are addicted to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Exalted Father, ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything You made, we can clearly see Your invincible qualities – Your eternal power and Your divine nature. O Sovereign Lord, You have only begun to show Your greatness and the strength of Your hand to Your servants. Is there any god in heaven or on earth who can perform such great and mighty deeds as You do? In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 26: A Prayer for People Overcoming the Death of a Loved One

Redeeming Father, we thank You for the life of our loved one(s) who has gone on to be with You.  Thank You for their time on earth and the impact they had on our lives.  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking on human form so that You can understand what we experience. Thank You for leaving us with a gift – Your peace of mind and heart.  We are thankful to You and we bless Your Name.  Father, we give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness.  The whole world shall know what You have done. We will sing praises to You.  We will tell every one of Your wonderful deeds.  You are our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.  We will sing to You as long as we live. We will praise You to our last breath!

Merciful Father, so why are we discouraged? Why are our hearts so sad? We will put our hope in You, God! We will praise You again – our Savior and our God!  Father, we trust Your Word.  We declare that our family and friends who have experienced the death of a loved one will not be afraid, for You are with them; they will not be discouraged, for You are their God. Your Word says that You will strengthen them and help them. You will hold them up with Your victorious right hand. Your Name, Lord, is a strong fortress; the Godly run to You and are safe. We declare that it is by Your great mercy that we have been born again, because You raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now, we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance – an inheritance that is kept in heaven for us, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.  So, we decree that bereavement will last only for a short time and joy will replace sorrow.

Holy Spirit, when we see our brother or sister mourning the death of a loved one, help us to be compassionate, but also to edify him or her with God’s Word of hope and peace. Bring scriptures to our remembrance that will help to bring solace to help our brother or sister.  As we do this, we trust that You will help them so they will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with Him the believers who have died. Remind us to care for the physical needs of families in mourning, with food, transportation, child care or any other material things that may be needed. Help us to be patient and to not be insensitive to those in pain. Holy Spirit, when we are grieving as well, comfort us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.

Holy Spirit, help me to become more sensitive to the needs of those around me who are in mourning and show me how I can be an encouragement to them:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Gracious Father, when we are grieving, forgive us for concentrating on what we see with our eyes rather than what we believe in our hearts. When others are grieving, forgive us for being impatient as time goes on after a death. Forgive us when we utter unkind words, making light of someone else’s pain at the death of a loved one. Holy Spirit, chasten us if we are not taking care of the physical or emotional needs of a person who has suffered loss. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind those who are overcoming the death of a loved one of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Almighty God, the heavens proclaim Your glory! The skies display Your craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night, they make You known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. You are awesome in Your sanctuary, Lord God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

December 25: A Prayer for Physical Healing and Deliverance

Glorious Father, we thank You for salvation. Thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to break the power of the devil and to bring us hope, health, and healing. Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit, to comfort and empower us. We give thanks because You are near. People everywhere will tell of Your wonderful deeds.  Lord, You are good and Your unfailing love endures forever.  You are great and You perform wonderful deeds.  You alone are God.

Awesome Father, You brought Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and powerful arm.  Jesus Christ, Your Son, turned water into wine, cleansed lepers, healed the sick, raised the dead, and fed five thousand people with two fish and five loaves of bread.  Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples so that we would believe that He is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in His Name.  We believe Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.  Therefore, Father, we expect You to display Your glory in the lives of those people who are in need of healing and deliverance.  With You, nothing is impossible.  We expect diseases to be dissolved, broken relationships to be mended, and those who are held captive in their minds and souls to be set free.  As we pray for those in need of healing and deliverance, we confess that Your power will operate through us.

List the names of people you know who need a physical healing and deliverance; encourage them to pray Scriptures of healing located at https://myprayerinstitute.wordpress.com/category/healing/)

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Righteous Father, please help us to be bolder about praying for healing and deliverance.  Help those in need of healing and deliverance to trust in You with all of their heart and not depend on their own understanding. Holy Spirit, please open the eyes of their understanding so that they will understand the confident hope given to those Christ has called.  Remind people to look to You for help, strength, and power.  Father, cause Your awesome power to be experienced throughout our church and community.

Merciful Father, forgive those people who have doubted Your Word and Your works.  Forgive them for acting Godly, but denying Your power to perform healings, signs and wonders in their lives and in the lives of others.  Lord, please forgive them and restore to them the joy of Your salvation.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those people who are in need of physical healing and deliverance to forgive others and please help them to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help those people who are in need of physical healing and deliverance to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Royal Lord, You are the Almighty!  Only You can open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf.  You cause the lame to leap like deer and those who cannot speak to sing for joy.  You cause springs to gush forth in the wilderness and streams to water the wasteland. You cause the parched ground to become a pool and springs of water to satisfy the thirsty land.  Great and awesome is Your Name.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
