A Prayer of Declaration for the Presidential Election

A Prayer of Declaration for the Presidential Election

October 24, 2012

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 33:10-22, II Samuel 23:1-6

Note: Please pray in your prayer language (pray in tongues) for today’s prayer topic. If you do not pray in tongues, then pray the following prayer out loud.

Scriptural Prayer:

Great Father, we thank You for blessing us to live in such a wonderful country as the United States of America. Thank You for those who marched, protested, and even died so that we can enjoy the privilege to participate in the democratic process of voting. Thank You for exercising Your sovereign rule over the proceedings of this upcoming election. Lord, You are the great God, and the great King above all gods. In Your hand are the deep places of the earth; the mightiest mountains are Yours. The sea is Yours, for You made it, and Your hands formed the dry land. Lord, You are our God and we are the people You watch over, the flock under Your care.

Righteous Father, You said that we can declare a thing, and it will be established so that light will shine on our way! You freely give wisdom to all people. Therefore, we declare that the wisdom of God will lead the American voter in this election (including state and local elections). Though many plans have been devised regarding the 2012 presidential election, God’s purposes will prevail. It is our Father who frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But, God’s plans stand firm forever. His intentions can never be shaken. What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people He has chosen as His inheritance. We declare that Jesus is Lord in the United States. We cancel the demonic strategies and intentions regarding this election, in the Name of Jesus. We speak peace to the winds of confusion, discord, division, deceit, death, and character assassination. We declare that the works of the spirits of destruction, murder, terror, fear, and ruin are of no effect regarding this election. Peace, be still on November 6, 2012.

Holy Spirit, there is a lot of political rhetoric and censure to wade through as we consider who will be our next President. Please give us supernatural guidance. Help us all not to lose sight of common sense and discernment as we prepare to go to the polls. Remind us to refrain from senseless debates with others that have no bearing on God’s truth. In addition to the presidential election, give us wisdom and discernment to also vote intelligently concerning our local and state elections, including the propositions on the ballot. Write the Father’s plan on the hearts of the Body of Christ in America, so that we will stand by our convictions and not be tempted to succumb to apathy, discouragement, or deception. May the Father’s guiding hand be evident during the election process. Convict the hearts of our leaders to remove any unnecessary and outdated barriers to a fair election. Protect voters at the polls and speak to the hearts of precinct captains and poll workers during the early elections. Father, dispatch Your angels to watch and protect every voting place throughout the country.

List any additional concerns regarding the 2012 Presidential election and pray about those issues:

Faithful Father, as a nation, forgive us for our sins. Forgive us for wandering away from Your original plan for the United States of America. Forgive the candidates who have exhibited divisive and dishonorable behavior unbefitting of a true leader. Forgive those believers who have not prayed for our current President, Barack Obama. Forgive those who have disrespected the office of the President and rebelled against Your Word to honor those in authority. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Awesome Father, You alone are God. You are the First and the Last. It was Your hand that laid the foundations of the earth; Your right hand spread out the heavens above. When You call out the stars, they appear in order. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

A Prayer for the Elections

Heavenly Father, we give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. To You will we sing songs of praise and tell everyone about Your wonderful deeds. Father, we thank You for over 200 years of democratic rule.  Thank You for the right to vote. Thank You for the authority to expect change through prayer. Thank You for giving us the wisdom, discernment and knowledge to pray for our nation’s elections. We exalt Your holy Name. The earth is Yours Lord, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Royal power belongs to You, Lord, You rule all nations.

Magnificent Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done during the upcoming elections. Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority, so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity. We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight. In obedience to Your Word, we intercede for the upcoming elections. We decree that the political election process will yield to Your plans. Father, Your Word states that You hold the heart of the king in Your hand and You will turn it in the direction that You choose. We confess and expect that the hearts of the candidates will be guided by the power of the Holy Spirit. We command peace to be still within the elections. Father, it is predicted that the election campaigns will be difficult and vicious, but, in Jesus’ Name, we crush the demonic devices that are being designed to stir up negativity, cynicism, and hopelessness among the American voters. We declare that Your plans will prevail and each candidate will address the issues, take the “high road,” and inspire American voters. We command Your Word, which we speak with boldness and faith, to interrupt the airwaves and destroy every word that is spoken by the media that does not align with Your will for these campaigns. We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name. We declare that the democratic process will be implemented fairly and justly throughout our city, state and nation during this upcoming election process.

Holy Spirit, please speak to the hearts of the candidates. Continue to increase Your spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, courage, might, and knowledge within them. We do not know what their level of commitment is to You, but we ask You to communicate with them on behalf of Your people. Equip them with everything they need for doing Your will and produce in them, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to You. Convict them, along with their entire staff and volunteers, if they use ungodly campaign tactics or resort to political mudslinging. Confuse the thoughts and messages of those who have disregard for Your Kingdom. Father, dispatch Your angels to guard and protect their families and destroy every assignment that the devil devises against them. Father, we know that nothing is too difficult for You.

Everlasting Father, please have mercy upon us and forgive our nation for its many sins. Forgive us for making “self” the center of our American culture. Forgive each candidate for his or her sins. Forgive them for trusting in their own abilities instead of trusting in You. Forgive them when they do not consult with You before making decisions or administering their authority and power. Forgive them for the times they have not been fair, compassionate, or understanding as public servants. Forgive them when they are being people pleasers and not God pleasers. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive those American citizens who have not exercised the privilege to vote, yet complain about our country’s leadership.  Holy Spirit, if there are any candidates who need to forgive anyone, please bring it to their remembrance and help them to forgive.

Redeeming Father, help our candidates to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, You are the eternal King, Your rule is everlasting. All the people of the earth are nothing compared to You. All of Your acts are just and true. You alone have held the oceans in Your hand. You measured the heavens with Your fingers and know the weight of the earth. The Lord God Almighty is Your Name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for U.S. Military Personnel and Allies

A Prayer for U.S. Military Personnel and Allies

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 89:11-18, Psalm 91

Reflections of the Heart::

Our U.S. military personnel and allies have been fighting courageously for our freedom.  The least we can do for them is to pray!  Let us remember the sacrifices of our military personnel and allies in our daily prayers.

Scriptural Prayer

Heavenly Father, we praise and honor Your Name.  Your Name is the Lord and we rejoice before You.  Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, who lives forever from everlasting to everlasting.  What a variety of things You have made.  In wisdom You have made them all.  The earth is full of Your creatures.  Lord, we thank You for our U.S. military personnel and allies.  We thank You for protecting our armed forces throughout history.   Thank You for exposing evil plots to destroy the United States.  We thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty power in the world.  Lord, You are a faithful, loving and compassionate God and we bless You.

Father, do not be silent, deaf or quiet.  Don’t You hear the tumult of Your enemies and see what they are doing?  They have devised crafty schemes and plans against Your people; they conspire against Your precious ones.  Father, the enemy says, “Come let us wipe out Israel as a nation.  We will destroy the very memory of its existence.”  Lord, this is their unanimous decision.  They have signed a treaty as allies against You.  Father, as a nation we are trusting in You and we are looking to You to deliver our military personnel and our allies from evil.  We are depending on You to rescue them from evil people and preserve them from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts and stir up trouble all day long.  Their tongues sting like a snake; venom as a viper drips from their lips.  Lord, by the authority You have given to us, we command peace to be still in the earth.  By faith, we are expecting peaceful resolutions throughout the world.  Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.

List the name of a  U. S. military  person who has served or is presently serving our country.  Call or send a note to thank him or her today:

Father, Lord of Heaven’s armies, we ask You to deal with our nation’s enemies, both inside and outside of our borders.  Holy Spirit, expose every plot before any destruction occurs.  Touch the hearts of our allies to stand strong with our nation.  Increase the courage and strength of our servicemen and women as they continue to fight courageously in battle. Father, we ask You to protect them and their families.    Please protect innocent citizens during this time.  Let Your favor surround our nation like a shield.  Give our President, his administration, leaders of the U.S. Armed Forces and our allies increased wisdom and discernment.  Holy Spirit, we ask You to intervene and confuse the enemy.  Please clear the way so that the Gospel is preached throughout the world.  Father, as Your Gospel goes forth, touch the hearts of the unsaved to receive it.  Lord, we ask You to continue to provide basic needs for our military personnel, allies and their families.

Father, please forgive our military personnel and allies for their sins.  Forgive them for lying, cheating, stealing, slander, strife, malice, envy, jealousy, selfishness, disobedience, and rebellion and any abuses of war.   Forgive our nation for hypocrisy, slander, greed, racism, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, injustice, elitism, hatred, and violence.  Forgive the media for misrepresenting the truth.  Forgive us for not praying for local, national, and world leaders, especially President Bush and his administration.  Holy Spirit, touch the hearts of our military personnel and allies to forgive others; and help them to forgive.

Lead all our military personnel and allies not into temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, You are King.  You sit on Your throne between the cherubim; let the whole earth quake.  You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, supreme above all the nations.  Your Name is so great and awesome.  You are Holy.  Yours is the kingdom, the power and glory, forever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Zimbabwe

A Prayer for Zimbabwe

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 117, Psalm 126:4-6, Jeremiah 30:17, 19-22

Reflections of the Heart:

Zimbabwe is a country in crisis: an economic and social collapse is occurring in a country whose motto is “Unity, Freedom and Work” as a “dictatorial democracy” has become the law of the land, tribal warfare has killed an indeterminate number of people and sent thousands fleeing the land, and unemployment has reached an astonishing 94 percent. Let us pray to the Father that Zimbabwe be ruled by leaders who put the needs of the people over their own ambitions; that a stable financial system be established in order to re-build the country’s infrastructure; and that foreign citizens will pay heed to God’s call to love their neighbors as they love themselves.

Scriptural Prayer:

O Lord, You are our God. We extol and praise Your name for You are faithful and true.[i] You are an eternal Rock[ii] in whom we find refuge.[iii] There is no savior but You – none can deliver but You.[iv] Your name and Your title are the desire of our souls.[v] Our souls glory in You and we exalt Your name[vi] for what a great God you are![vii] Praise be to our Rock, the Lord who lives![viii]

Father, we put our hope in You[ix] as You are a refuge to the poor and to the needy in distress.[x] We confess that when You see the affliction of Your people and hear their cries, You work signs and wonders and make a name for Yourself.[xi] You restore lands so that people will give You thanks for Your goodness and mercy.[xii] We confess that as You restore Zimbabwe, the people will praise You as their deliverer. They will sing Your praise as they tell of how You answered when they called for Your help.[xiii] We confess that they will bless You at all times; they shall constantly speak Your praise.[xiv]

Father, we ask that You restore the country of Zimbabwe to its former glory. As the God who heals all diseases[xv]we ask that You, Jehova Rapha, stop the outbreak of cholera that is occurring in the country by providing adequate resources to repair the water and sanitation services. Father, break the cycle of famine by providing bread[xvi]to the people who are scrounging for food; send showers of blessings so that the orchards and fields of Zimbabwe will yield bumper crops.[xvii] Jehovah-Jireh, as the God who provides, please stabilize the economy of Zimbabwe so that those who are working will be able to earn fair wages and provide for their families. Provide enough resources to re-open hospitals and schools throughout the country. We ask that You protect the aid workers who have traveled to the country in the hopes of providing relief  to Your people; accept their selflessness as an attempt to do what is right and just in Your eyes.[xviii]For those citizens of Zimbabwe who are fleeing to South Africa in search of a better life, provide them safe passage as they cross the Limpopo River; protect them from the arrow that flies by day, the pestilence that roams in darkness, and the destruction that lays in wait at noon.[xix] Holy Spirit, inspire the people of South Africa to help, not oppress or mistreat, those citizens from Zimbabwe who are seeking refuge.[xx] Father, we ask a special blessing over the women and children of Zimbabwe: please protect the woman and girls from bodily brutality.

Abba Father, spread Your protection around[xxi] the children who have been orphaned or abandoned to shield them from the gumagumas[xxii] seeking to exploit their innocence and vulnerability in Zimbabwe and in the countries where they may seek refuge. In regards to the government, we ask that You remove the chains of oppression that have been imposed by the country’s current rulers.[xxiii] Holy Spirit, guide the leaders of Zimbabwe in Your truth:[xxiv] touch and inspire them to seek peace[xxv] and to rule with fairness[xxvi]by reminding them that all people, including leaders, will be subjected to judgment by You, O Lord, and that You show no partiality.[xxvii] Holy Spirit, descend upon the dissenters in Zimbabwe who are being tortured for speaking out against the country’s rulers; impart wisdom upon them so that they will be able to withstand their persecution knowing that those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness have a place in the Kingdom of Heaven.[xxviii] Holy Spirit, we also ask that You inspire world leaders to take a more active role in restoring Zimbabwe; let foreign dignitaries become more attentive to the numerous crises that are occurring in Zimbabwe; allow foreign governments to work with Zimbabwe’s leaders to negotiate and foster humane solutions that will ease the country’s economic crisis; inspire religious leaders to promote prayer for the troubled country; and inspire the citizens of all foreign nations to call upon their religious and secular leaders to press for a government that will impart laws that are in accordance with Your law and Your ways.[xxix]

What can be done to influence foreign governments to intervene in the crises in Zimbabwe?

Father, we ask You to forgive the people of Zimbabwe for their sins. Forgive those who are preying upon the poor and distressed people in the country. Forgive those citizens who have an abundance for allowing their fellow countrymen to scavenge for food. Forgive the leaders of the country for turning a blind eye to those who are in need, and for not acknowledging that their people are indeed suffering. Forgive the leaders for the dictatorial rule they have imposed upon  the democratic land.  Father, please forgive the citizens of foreign nations for their lack of knowledge and inattention to the plight of the people in Zimbabwe. We also ask that You forgive the people of foreign nations who are turning away refugees from Zimbabwe. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.)  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Father, help them to not yield to temptation, but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, vast is Your power.[xxx] You have made the Heaven and Earth by Your great might; nothing is impossible with You. [xxxi] The Heavens declare Your glory, sending forth Your message to the ends of the world without a word or a sound.[xxxii] Let all servants, great and small, revere You; [xxxiii] as all salvation, glory and might belong to You,[xxxiv] O Lord. Let everything that has breath praise You![xxxv] In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Political Leaders (local, state, and national)

Political Leaders (local, state, and national)

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 99:1-5, Psalm 1

Reflections of the Heart:

When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, the Lord reassured Moses that he was capable of accomplishing the job. Just as Moses had faith in God, we must have faith that God will carry out His perfect will here on earth through today’s political leaders.  Offering up effective, fervent prayers for our political leaders will definitely benefit our city, state, and country more than murmuring and complaining ever will.  Pray for our political leaders so that we can live in peace.  SC

Scriptural Prayer:

Lord, You are King!  You are robed in majesty and armed with strength.  The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.  We praise Your Name Father forever and ever.   You have all wisdom and power.  You control the course of world events; removing kings and setting up other kings.  You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and only You know what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light.   Father, we thank You for our political leaders.  Thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty government in the earth.  Thank You for allowing us to call upon You in our times of need as a nation. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings.  We are grateful, and we bless Your Name.

Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions of authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.  We pray for our President, congressmen, governor, mayor, and all political leaders.  Lord, You aren’t slow about Your promise, as some people think.  You are patient for our sake, not wanting any of our leaders to be destroyed, but You want them to repent.  By faith we call our leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit.  We declare that our city, state, and national political leaders will not follow the advice of the wicked or stand around with sinners or join in with mockers.  We confess that they will delight in Your law and will meditate in it day and night.   As they do this Father, we confess that they will be like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.  Their leaves will not wither, and whatever they do will prosper for the good of our city, state, and nation.

Father, we ask You to fill our leaders with Your Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, and knowledge.  Grant them favor, increase their faith, and prepare them to pursue Your excellence.   Draw our leaders to You and cause them to know and fulfill Your purposes.  Please place people in their paths that will provide scriptural, sound and godly counsel to help them; for without Your counsel their plans will go awry.  Impart Your wisdom and revelation to them about leadership and help them to lead.  Deal with our leaders about keeping their hearts and motives pure. We ask You to make their hearts pliable, willing and obedient to Your will.  Cause each of their lives to glorify Your Name.  Father, we ask You to raise up modern day David’s, Solomon’s, Joseph’s, Nehemiah’s, Deborah’s, Ruth’s and Esther’s who will joyfully and purposefully work in the political sector in order to help rebuild and restore our communities.

Father, please forgive our political leaders for their sins.  Forgive them for greed, hypocrisy, injustice, selfish ambitions, pride, arrogance, idolatry, adultery, slander, sexism, elitism, oppression, partiality, lust, manipulations, lying, ungodliness, perversion, and any act of sinfulness.  Lord, forgive me for passing judgment on our political leaders.  Forgive us, the body of Christ, for not praying for them.  Lord, remind our political leaders to forgive others and help them to forgive.

Lead them not into temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is and is to come.  You alone are God.  You are subject to none, yet all are subject to You.  Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Darfur

A Prayer for Darfur

Scripture Reading:

II Samuel 22:1-4, Proverbs 31:8-9, Revelation 21:3-4

Reflections of the Heart:

What images does the name Darfur bring to mind?  Violence?  Despair? Hopelessness?  Confusion?  For too many, the name does not bring any image to mind.  It is unimaginable to not only believe that people are unaware that a modern-day Holocaust is occurring, but that the survivors of this tragedy are being ignored or further brutalized when they seek refuge and help.  Let us pray that God will open our eyes and ears to see and hear the pleas of the people in Darfur; and open our minds and hearts to respond to their needs.

Scriptural Prayer:

To You Lord, O God, enthroned in Heaven, we lift our hearts and our eyes for You are alive!  You are a tower of salvation and we sing Your praise among the nations, for You have given us great victories.  In You, Abba Father, we find protection.  You are a shield, a stronghold and protector from violence.  You are worthy of praise; so praise be to our Rock, our Salvation who delivers us from our enemies.  We proclaim that You, Lord, are just, that in You there is no wrong.  Thank You for sending Your son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from sin and death.  Thank You for being our God and making us Your people.  Thank You for compassion and unfailing love.

Almighty Father, You are the God of deliverance.   You are the Lord of Heaven’s Armies who possesses all power and might.   You are the God who brought the Israelites out of Egypt with great strength and a powerful arm.  We are confident that You are able to deliver the people of Sudan.  You, the Lord Most High, are awesome.  You are the great King of all the earth who subdues nations before us and puts our enemies beneath our feet.  Today, using the authority of Jesus Christ, we destroy the demonic strongholds that reside in the minds of Darfur’s oppressors and command the demonic spirits that rule over this territory to cease from operating in Sudan.   We cancel the assignments of death, destruction, and devastation in this region of the world.  In Jesus’ Name, peace be still!  We command justice to run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You remove the hardness that is in the hearts of the people who are sanctioning genocide; show those who are destroying others, in the name of ethnic cleansing, their evil ways.  Reveal to them that when You, Father, look down from Your throne in Heaven, You see all humans, observe their ways, and that sorrow awaits those who issue unfair laws and prey on widows and orphans.  Father, please bring more attention to the plight of the people in Darfur.  Touch the hearts of journalists who work for major news agencies to increase their coverage of this horrific crisis.  Stir the hearts of leaders from nations around the world to intervene in order to save lives.   Send God-fearing, trustworthy negotiators, whom You have enlightened with Your wisdom and knowledge, to negotiate a peaceful end to the genocide.  Lord of Heaven’s Armies, we ask a special blessing for the children who have endured unspeakable atrocities such as rape and mutilation.  Comfort those children whose parents and families have been murdered and provide new homes for them.  Holy Father, have mercy upon the people of Darfur.  Extend Your loving compassion and unfailing love towards them.  Please send more help!

Merciful Father, forgive the leaders of Sudan who initiated the genocide by pitting tribe against tribe.  Forgive them for ordering and encouraging the physical, mental, and emotional destruction of an entire people.  Forgive the soldiers who are ravaging the lives of men, women, and children.  Forgive those of us who live under stable government rule for turning a blind eye to our brethren in Darfur.  Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not praying and advocating for this terrible situation.   You said to mourn when others mourn.  Forgive us for our selfishness and apathy.  Please forgive world leaders who have chosen not to intervene and have said that this catastrophe has been blown out of proportion, that this is not their problem.   Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.)  Holy Spirit, help the Sudanese people to forgive their oppressors.  You said in Your Word that we must forgive others.  Please help them to release anger, bitterness, resentment and hatred.  Holy Spirit, You are the only One who can help them to forgive.

Lord, help the people of Darfur not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Let all the earth fear the Lord.  May everyone stand in awe of You, for nothing is impossible for You.  No army can match Your might.  You have established Your reign forever and ever.   In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer of Hope

A Prayer of Hope

Heavenly Father, I honor You.  You merely spoke and the heavens were created.  You breathed the word and all the stars were born.  You assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the ocean in vast reservoirs.  Let the whole world fear You, Lord.  Let everyone stand in awe, for when You spoke, the world began and appeared at Your command.  Thank You for watching over me and my family through the years.  Thank You for Your unfailing love and eternal blessings.  Thank You for being my God.

Wonderful Father, You are my shepherd and I do not have to want for anything.  You let me rest in green meadows and lead me beside peaceful streams.  You renew my strength and guide me along right paths, bringing honor to Your name.  If I have to walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid because You are close beside me.  Your rod and staff protect and comfort me.   You have prepared a feast for me in the presence of my enemies and You honor me by anointing my head with oil.  My cup overflows with Your blessings.  Surely, Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in Your house forever.  Yes, Father, I can.  I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.

Holy Spirit, help me to trust our Heavenly Father daily.  Help me to give him my cares since He cares for me.  Please help me to walk by faith and not be persuaded by the things that are going on in my life.  Gracious Father, I need You!  Continue to surround me with Your unfailing love for my hope is in You, alone.

Forgive me for doubting Your love for me.  Forgive me for my lack of faith and sincerity.  Forgive me for looking to other sources for my peace and security.   I acknowledge that You are the source of my existence and I cannot live without You.  Righteous Father, I submit to You and confess that Jesus Christ is Your son.  Because of Him, I have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of my sins.  Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those people that I need to forgive. (You should now see faces or names of people that you need to forgive in your spirit.  Today, decide to forgive them and say out loud “I forgive [name each person].”  Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to forgive and to heal the wounded places in your soul caused by offenses, hurtful words, etc.)

Father, lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one.

Lord, there is none like You.  You are great and Your name is full of power.  Who would not fear You, O King of the nations?  That title belongs to You, alone!  Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like You.  You are the King of Glory.  You are the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.  You are worthy, Lord our God, to receive glory, honor, and power.  You created all things and they exist because You created what You pleased.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for O.N.E. (One Nation Empowered)

A Prayer for O.N.E.

(One Nation Empowered)

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Psalm 33:12

Almighty Father, God, You merely spoke and the heavens were created.  You breathed the Word, and all the stars were born.  You assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.  We praise Your name forever and ever, for You possess all wisdom and power.  Father, thank You for blessing the United States of America with abundance and prosperity.  Thank You for surrounding our nation with Your favor, grace, and mercy.  Jesus, thank You for shedding Your blood for our redemption.  Holy Spirit, thank You for Your guidance and power.  You are an awesome God!

Heavenly Father, let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our nation.  Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority, so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity.  We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight.  Today, we pray for our new President, Barack Obama, and his presidential administration.  We declare that as they prepare to lead our nation, they will trust in You with all of their hearts.  They will not depend on their own understanding, but they will seek Your will in all they do and we expect that You, Lord, will show them which path to take when making decisions for the American people.

We decree that our local, state, and national leaders will not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful; but their delight will be in the law of the Lord and in His law they will meditate day and night.  They will be like trees planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf will not wither and whatever they do will prosper.  Gracious Father, some nations boast of their chariots and horses; but we boast in the Name of the Lord, our God.

We submit to Your care, President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Timothy Geithner, Robert Gates, Eric Holder Jr., Kenneth Salazar, Thomas Vilsack, Hilda Solis, Shaun Donovan, Raymond LaHood, Steven Chu, Arne Duncan, Eric Shinseki,  Janet Napolitano, Leon Panetta, Dennis Blair, Christina Romer, Lisa Jackson, Robert Mueller, Lawrence Summers, James Jones, Susan Rice, Peter Orszag, Ron Kirk, Robert Gibbs, Rahm Emanuel, the U.S. Congress and all governmental officials.

Holy Spirit, unite this new administration and remind all of our  leaders that they are working for the good of the nation and not for the advancement of self.  Please help our leaders to put aside “politics” and operate in the best interest of the American people.   Heal the wounds that negative politics, fear and ignorance have created within our nation.  Empower us, the Body of Christ, to lead the effort in the healing process.  Eternal God, Lord of Heaven’s Armies, we ask You to bless and protect our leaders’ families.  Please continue to protect our troops and our borders.  Increase the courage and strength of our servicemen and women as they fight courageously for our country.

Merciful Father, we repent on behalf of our nation for our many sins.  We acknowledge that our actions have created problems that only You can solve.  Forgive us for all sin, including greed, arrogance, selfish ambition, disobedience, rebellion, hypocrisy, injustice, jealousy, hatred, violence, ageism, sexism, racism, and dissension.  Father, forgive us for shedding innocent blood and denying Your power.  We confess that we have not loved the world as You love the world.  We ask You to heal our land and make us one, even as You and Jesus are One.  Please have mercy upon all of us and help us!  As a nation, show us those we need to forgive and help us to forgive.

Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Now, unto You, the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer of Repentance

A Prayer of Repentance

Scripture Reading:

Jeremiah 10:6-16, Matthew 3:1-2, II Corinthians 7:9-10

Reflections of the Heart:

It is empowering to know that birth into the Kingdom of God is available to anyone by hearing the call to salvation, choosing to reject and repent of sin, and turning away from sin toward Christ Jesus as personal Lord and Savior. That is repentance unto God’s good work.

Scriptural Prayer:

Father God, You hear and attend to our prayer because we come in submission according to Your Word. From the ends of the earth, we cry to You for help when our hearts are overwhelmed. Your Word leads us to the towering rock of safety, for You are our safe refuge, a fortress where our enemies cannot reach us. We will live forever in Your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of Your wings. We will praise You, Lord, with our whole heart. Heavenly Father, we thank You for men and women messengers who teach Your Word of repentance. We are grateful that when we are converted, our sins are wiped away so that times of refreshment may come from the presence of the Lord. Thank You for loving us in spite of our faults.

Heavenly Father, You have given clear instruction to Your people, from John the Baptist, throughout Jesus’ ministry, in the disciples’ ministry during Jesus’ time on earth and throughout Acts. Without acting on Your Word of repentance, salvation is retarded. Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. Jesus prophesied this same message would be taken to the ends of the world, commissioning His disciples  to do this ministry of repentance and promising the power of the Holy Spirit to help fulfill God’s work. Father God, we know that You require repentance to be baptized into the body of Christ – into Your family. When Jesus began to preach after being tempted of the devil, He said, “Repent of your sins and turn to God for the kingdom of heaven is near.” The inauguration of Your ongoing grace offers salvation to anyone who has faith in the Name of Jesus. Repentance from sin is the first step toward being redeemed from death to eternal life for the Gospel is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. In it, Your righteousness is revealed from faith to faith. As it is written, the just shall live by faith.

Holy Spirit, inspire Christian men and women who will not be ashamed to pursue excellence in Christ and spread the Good News of repentance and belief in the Gospel of Your Kingdom. Father, You have told us that everyone has sinned. We all fall short of Your glorious standard. Therefore, we ask now that the Holy Spirit will always counsel us to recognize our sins and inspire us to repent and turn from evil, as You have commanded us to do. We will do this because we know that You will not reject a broken and repentant heart.  Let it be unto us according to Your Word.

Holy Spirit, reveal to me sins hidden in my heart for which I need to repent:

Merciful Father, forgive the ignorance tolerated by the children of Your kingdom who have not been taught, or who have refused to submit to learn, the importance of repentance. Forgive those who have evil thoughts when they repent of their wickedness. Forgive us for half-hearted worship.  Forgive us for stubbornness, rebellion, and arrogance.  Forgive us for disobedience.  Although You may become weary with our repenting, we know that You will forgive us, even seven times seventy in a day if need be, for You have taught us to continually forgive our neighbor.

Father, help us to not yield to temptation but, deliver us from the evil one.

Almighty God, You are so gracious to Your people. You restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts. You take no pleasure in the death of anyone. Praise to our Rock! May the God of our salvation be exalted! In the precious Name of Jesus, Amen!

A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Jesus Christ (our Passover Lamb)

A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Jesus Christ (our Passover Lamb)

Scripture Reading:

Hebrews 1:1-12, Hebrews 9:11-28

Reflections of the Heart:

“Jesus (our Passover Lamb) has borne our grief and carried our sorrow.  He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities.  The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and it is with His stripes that we are healed.”  Isaiah 53:4-5

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we praise You, the Lord of hosts.  Lord, You are good and Your mercy endures forever. You are the Lord, our Righteousness.  We are grateful to You!  We thank You that all who choose eternal lifeare included in Your Church Family. We adore You as Abba Father, with all our hearts.  Thank You for being such a loving God.  Thank You for being our God and making us Your people. Thank You for being mindful of us and sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Deliverer and Liberator.

Jesus, You made us right in God’s sight through Your obedience to His plan of Your death on the cross, resurrection and ascension into heaven. We have the peace of God because of our faith in You. Lord Jesus, You have brought us into a plan of undeserved privilege and position with God, and we confidently and joyfully believe to see God’s glory. HALLEL YAH!  When we were utterly helpless in our sin nature, You came to earth at just the right time and died for us sinners. Most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who he thought did especially good deeds.  But, God showed His great love for us by sending You to die for us while we were still sinners.  Since we have been made right in God’s sight by Your blood, we believers in You, Lord, are saved from God’s condemnation.  Because of Your death, our friendship with God is restored.  Today, we can rejoice in our wonderful relationship with God because You have made us God’s heirs.  You became our sacrifice.  You endured pain, shame, and humiliation to purchase our right-standing with God.  Jesus, we love You.  Because of You, we are God’s righteousness.  Father God, Jesus and Your Word inspires us to be all that You have created us to be.

Who is Jesus Christ to you? What is your relationship like with Him?

Holy Spirit, inspire us to always remember that Jesus is our Godly Brother.  Remind us to love and appreciate Him. Remind us to confess our love for You, Holy Spirit, and our Heavenly Father, God, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We yield to be led and guided in our daily confession to share as witnesses the goodness of Christ with our families, friends, co-workers and enemies.  Most of all, Holy Spirit, remind us that we have a new nature in Christ. Remind us that our self-esteem, both spiritually and mentally, is centered solely in Jesus Christ.

Father, forgive us for not fully pursuing the knowledge of the sacrifice Christ made for our freedom.  Forgive us for taking communion without remembering Jesus’ death on our behalf.  Forgive us for our overt and covert acts of sin, including stubbornness, arrogance, selfishness, ungratefulness, pride and rebellion.  Holy  Spirit, inspire our Church Family members who have drifted back into old bondages and enslaved mentalities to know that God forgives those who come before Him out of a pure heart and ask for forgiveness.  Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).

Father, help us to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Eternal God, You are mighty and strong.  You are the One and Only Creator above all.  You are Jehovah Jireh, our God who provides! King above all kings!  Jesus, You are God’s Worthy Lamb, slain as God’s sacrifice for the sin of the world. You have all authority, power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing in heaven and earth. Honor, glory and power belong to You, the One sitting at God’s right hand on the throne. You are the Lamb forever and ever. In Your mighty Name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
